About BVPPA
| What? | The Brazos Valley Public Purchasing Association is the local Chapter of public purchasing professionals. |
| Who? | Any individual who administers public funds either directly or indirectly is eligible for membership. Membership with the National Purchasing Institute (NPI) is encouraged but not required (if not presently a member of one of the other national purchasing organizations). |
| When? | BVPPA meets every third (3rd) Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. for business meetings, information exchange, and a varied program of interest to purchasing professionals. A notice is sent out prior to the scheduled meeting date to confirm the date, time, place, and subject matter. |
| Where? | BVPPA normally meets at the City of Bryan Council Chambers, City Hall, located at the corner of Texas Avenue and 29th Street (unless one of the other member organizations wishes to host the meeting). |
| Why Join? | What's in it for me, you ask? BVPPA enhances your professional growth in your chosen field by: 1. Attending Continuing education programs which allow you to work toward Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) certification. 2. Learning from monthly programs of interest and benefit in how to develop a more professional and effective purchasing department for your organization. 3. Networking with other purchasing professionals in your area who can be called upon for help in crossing those first time situations, or provide specifications/information on needed products or services. 4. An avenue to become aware of other purchasing positions or opportunites as made available. |
| Cost? | Only $25.00 annual membership. NPI membership is an additional $180.00 annually (optional). |
| Committees? | Take advantage of the opportunity to acquire skills in planning, managing, and organization by serving on one of the BVPPA's committees. Our committees are always looking for volunteers, so we encourage all members to become active. |
